What can we say about Scott Brand that he hasn’t already said about himself? Brand is a product of amateur hockey having played youth hockey in Michigan, Iowa, Texas, and Illinois.

What can we say about Scott Brand that he hasn’t already said about himself? Brand is a product of amateur hockey having played youth hockey in Michigan, Iowa, Texas, and Illinois. 

After leaving the ice, he held the position of Vice-President and General Manager of the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League from 1992-96 where he guided the team to set record crowds, corporate sponsorship and the building of a new arena. He also founded the Waterloo Bucks, the 1st expansion team in the Northwoods College Baseball League in 1995 and was named executive of the year. In May of 1996, he was named the Vice-President of the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL, where he increased attendance for two seasons in a row. 

In 2015 Brand returned home to his family farm in St. Louis, MI, where he helped start a local farmers market and was named Vice President of Operations for Pure Pro Wrestling, a Michigan based sports entertainment promotion. 

In June of 2019, he was hired as to the position of President/General Manager of the Columbus River Dragons and in 2021 was hired into the same title with the Choccolocco Monsters.

Diego comes to Oxford by way of Lansing, Michigan where he grew up playing hockey.  His career took him all across the country from Junior hockey in Richmond, Virginia to Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. It has also allowed him the opportunity to earn his B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Diego comes to Oxford by way of Lansing, Michigan where he grew up playing hockey.  His career took him all across the country from Junior hockey in Richmond, Virginia to Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. It has also allowed him the opportunity to earn his B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.  

Wilson started with Ignite Sports as a VP of Corporate Partnerships with the Columbus River Dragons back in 2019 and now sees his role expand with an administration position with the Choccolocco Monsters.

Diego is the youngest of four with two older brothers, Tony & Michael, and one older sister Kristal.  He is also the proud Uncle of his niece Raquel.

Steve Gillispie

Gillispie makes his return to the Eastern Alabama region after a previous 10-year stint with the Jacksonville State baseball program as an assistant coach. Gillispie also was a scout in the Major Leagues with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1997-2001. 

Gillispie’s last baseball job before the Monsters saw him serve as the head baseball coach at Youngstown State during the 2013-16 seasons and led the Penguins to their first victory in an NCAA Regional in program history in 2014. Gillispie, originally from Beatrice, Neb., played collegiately at Northwest Missouri State and Fort Hays State.

DeWayne Crowder brings many years of coaching experience to the Monsters organization. Crowder served as a baseball coach in the Carrollton City School System in various roles from 2014 to 2019. DeWayne also served as an assistant baseball coach for North Springs High School in 2019 while also serving as a special education teacher. Crowder looks forward to developing each player and being a positive influence in their lives.

Dalton Cobb

Dalton Cobb

Assistant Field Manager

Dalton Cobb lettered for four seasons under Head Coach Andy Shaw at Alexandria High School in Anniston, Ala. He was an All-State selection his junior and senior season and posted a .520 batting average his senior season, with five home runs and 29 stolen bases. He majored in Exercise Science at Auburn University at Montgomery where he continued his baseball career. In joining the Monsters organization Cobb hopes to help and assist players in any way he can to help better their game.
